It's always fun trying to come up with something about myself. Where does one begin? Since this site is about Fantasy Role-Playing and Art, I'll limit my scope to just that.
I started playing D&D back when I was ten. (For those that care, that is roughly twenty-eight years ago). That first adventure was on the school bus, and my character died within the first ten minutes. I was hooked.
For many years I read the books, the rules, and designed adventures that fit with my understanding of the game. I didn't have anyone to play with those first eight years, but it did prepare me to become a DM later in life. Shortly after leaving high school I started playing with whom would turn out to be some very good friends. Together we role, we carried on, we died, we laughed. Eventually one of my fellow players and I decided to work on a book. Years we refined the book (with what seemed each new edition of D&D). Many formats and revisions later, the Monks of Pal'Sidae were formed.
Quietly the simple black and white text sat on our desks, never with a piece of art. Artist after artist we contacted and none seemed to deliver. I gave up ont he book for quite some time. Still we played, but I turned my attention back to running better and better adventures.
Which I believe I succeeded in achieving.
I was happy with my maps, but wanted more. I found Dundjinni and fell in love with the program. Craving new pieces for maps I sought out various programs to fill me need for shinny new objects. I stumbled across a website, Daz3d.com. This is where I found my new addiction, grabbing models, doing textures, fiddling with 'stick' figures. Discovery soon came after. I had some artistic bones in my body. Toiling away with the 'poser' artwork I quickly became happy with what I produced, and shortly found my artist. Me!
I have done artwork for DragonRoots Magazine, drop some art at Greytale’s Nook and even a token set or two for Battlegrounds Games. I enjoy doing the artwork, especially without a group to play with.
This site, and it's sister site, AsgardNorth.net, is a compilation of my artistic side. Maps, Art, Adventures, and more are all here for your enjoyment.
